8/3/07 The night of the conversation mentioned on the BLOG, I recorded the entire set. I already came to the conclusion that I wasn’t going to work at that location ever again solely based on the meeting at the beginning of the night and I made that public that night on the microphone. That evening, I made an attempt to record them both after the end of the night. I only have a 1 minute conversation, but it didn’t capture what I needed. I understood that the GM Randy would never admit to his comment, so hopefully this will be enough.
8/4/07 I spoke to Dj Styles (resident dj & associate) to let him know about my experience. I confessed told Dj Styles, that I may have to go public and let patrons know. According to Dj Styles he notified Khalid (later found out was a GM/Partial Owner of Purple Martini) telling him about my experience and meeting with Randy (GM) and Jason (Bar Manager). This means, Purple Martini camp was fully aware and no one responded.
8/5/07 No Contact
8/6/07 No Contact
8/7/07 (It's been 3 days since Purple Martini Camp was aware of my experience) Still, no Purple Martini response. I felt that this was being ignored.
8/08/07 After 4 days and no response, I expressed my experience to individuals in the public. This range from patrons, friends, associates, and anyone who could help get the word to the ownership team to respond. Also audio clips can be available for evidence that it went.
8/8/07 After going public Kevin Kain (Known local promoter, & Purple Martini regular) finally had a chance to speak with Purple Martini’s owner named Rob. Kevin explained the situation as best as he knew being that he was at Purple Martini that evening. Kevin also explained his personal his frustrations to Rob regarding his experiences on 8/3/07. At this date, I still had no response regarding my concerns.
8/10/07 J1 (Known Event Coordinator) also tried to communicate with Jason (BM) and Randy (GM). A BLOG was made public on http://www.djbigspade.biz/news and http://www.myspace.com/djbigspade1
8/10/07 No response. Dj Styles worked that evening.
8/11/07 (7 days after, the GM Randy acknowledges his comment to Dj Styles) I sent a text message to Dj Styles asking if there has been any follow up? By now, I was under the impression that my concerns may have been overlooked. The evidence attached to this email are pics of the messages that will PROVE WITHOUT A DOUBT THAT RANDY THORTON ACKNOWLEDGES HIS COMMENTS to PURPLE MARTINI'S RESIDENT DJ, but just thought they may have been taken the wrong way. ???

Taken the wrong way?
It seams clear to me that Randy acknowledges it here but he will not acknowledge it to the ownership staff.
By not owning up to it, I think its safe to say that he’s implying that his employee and resident dj is spreading falsities. I believe it will also imply that Dj Big Spade (who is not an employee of Purple Martini) is doing the same.
Dj Styles has been consistent in suggesting to Khalid (GM) and Randy (GM) that their should be a follow up regarding this.
The comments has been acknowledge. THE MEETING mentioned in the BLOG www.djbigspade.biz/news DID TAKE PLACE AUGUST 3RD 2007 But it seams that no one in their camp is going to own up to there part in this? It’s my opinion that the focus has been taken off the obvious and placed on the Dj Big Spade.
8/12/07 After receiving Khalid’s number from J1. I called. (not knowing that Khalid new anything at this point.) We spoke for about an hour. The first portion of our conversation was about me not djing for DTC Purple Martini under their management. In verbatim: “Khalid, I can’t work over there anymore, maybe me and you can connect in the future but I can’t do it over there.” Khalid: “You know I have Dj P____ on Thurs, Fri, & Sat now but I will keep you on file for when he goes out of town for sure brother” Dj Big Spade: “Cool”
Khalid confirms that this is how our conversation took place 8/18/2007. This does two things: Eliminates Will’s claim that Dj Big Spade was disgruntle and this never was brought up until after I spoke to Khalid. Khalid also confirms this during our conversation on 8/18/07
In that conversation, Khalid apologized that I actually had to sit through such a disgusting conversation. He said as a human and a Black man he’s appalled by it. Khalid also mentioned (and this was quoted) “This isn’t the normal practice of Purple Martini” That stood out to me. It prompt me to edit the BLOG and out of respect to Khalid, I MADE SURE TO ADD THAT INSIDE THE BLOG. Our conversation was left at, him following up with the ownership group that day and following up with me by Tues. Khalid said, “At this point, I understand you have to do what you’re going to do. But if you haven't spoke to the media, allow me to follow up with the ownership team and I will follow up with you by Tues.”
8/13/07 I received a voice message from a Will Coleman. I returned a call and left a voice message, “If I don’t hear back from you, I will attempt to call you back by 6pm” Never heard back from Will and I got occupied. So we never spoke.
8/14/07 Tuesday. Never heard back from Khalid or anyone at Purple Martini.
8/15/07 Nothing.
8/16/07 Media news contact me and asked for interview responses to Will Coleman comments regarding the BLOG. It happened fast and the word spread like wild fire in the community. I received calls stating Will Coleman belittled you calling this entire situation FALSE and claimed you were disgruntle.
I received approximately 50 emails from the general public stating that they had similar experiences at Purple Martini. The one that stood out the most was the one by a member of the Rockies Baseball team. Also received testimony emails from individuals that claim the same type of attitude existed at other night clubs such as 5 Degrees and Monark. I was amazed at how many Black men and Women responded. However, I never lost my focus. My focus remained on the meeting that took place with Randy, Jason, and Dj Big Spade.
I never made a personal attack on Will Coleman and I still will not make an attack on Will Coleman.
Will is only partial owner. Owners don’t run the operations of the night club. The GM does, in this case the GM is the one that made the offensive comments. The GM is the one who said they wanted to select who comes in. The GM is the one who said “It’s getting to Dark in here and frankly it’s scaring away my White people. So what we’re going to do is going to be a little controversial this week. We are going to stand out and select who we let in.” The Bar Manager sat and agreed. The conversation had nothing to do with “Thugs” purely race. The GM acknowledges the comments to his own dj, but doesn't to his superior.
Is this not racial? Is this not proof? Am I wrong for calling the GM out from DAY 1?
Will Purple Martini keep the GM & the Bar Manager on to service those Black individuals that ONCE made up 75 to 80 percent of their crowd?
I play for people who like to DANCE not for a Race.
As a matter of fact, click on this link to hear the exact set that was played that night 8/3/2007.

Of course I have more evidence to back up claims mentioned along with email testimonies but that would be taking you away from the true matter at hand.
